“The most determined rider award”

We were honoured when Russell Whatts contacted Mark about naming an award after Jude

The award was “The most determined rider award”. We are delighted to share that this young lady has won it and it looks like she thoroughly deserves it.

Bella in Merch
Bella Smith. Age 7 from Plymouth

Bella rides a KTM 2010 Auto 50 that many would say has seen its best years many moons ago. Still the thrill of riding Moto-X drives Bella to participate in races across the southwest. I have been impressed with Bella on and off her bike. When the bike fails she just gets up and gives support to fellow riders to encourage them to do their best. On good days she is flying around the track.

For Bella it is not only the race, but the friendships gained and then she is passing this experience onto her class mate’s with a show and tell of what I did at the weekend. It has helped Bella with her attention to detail and concentration. Her confidence has grown over the last year. At Crediton she got 2nd place, both bike and rider did well!

In July Bella had an accident on a track at Littlehempston which fractured her foot. Not wishing to sit at hone on a race day, she strapped it up and rode at Landrake the very next week.

Best race tracks in 2021 for Bella are Littlehempston, Landrake. PCMP is her practice track due to location to home.

We’ve spoken to Russ about extending this next year with a bespoke trophy. Grass roots MX is so important and the team SouthWest MotocrossClub do an amazing job
